Thirty-nine (39) mayors and municipal health officers (MHOs) from MIMAROPA (Southwestern Tagalog Region) and Central Luzon (Region III) completed the Municipal Leadership Governance Program (MLGP) Cycle 2 on February 8 and March 8, 2019.
The MLGP is a two-year, three-module program that aims to improve the local health systems through the Bridging Leadership (BL) Framework. The new certified bridging leaders collaborated in reforming the scorecards or roadmaps of their respective municipalities. The results as presented during the colloquium showed better health outcomes and improved local health systems. The public narratives of the local chief executives also showcased the personal transformation of the local leaders, who applied the BL competencies along ownership, co-ownership and co-creation.
The MLGP is a program of the Department of Health in collaboration with the Zuellig Family Foundation. DAP-GSPDM served as the academic partner of the DOH-Central Luzon and the DOH-MIMAROPA.
